EMDR Trained Therapist

Seta Modanloo is a Provisional Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (P8660) and a member of the Psychologists' Association of Alberta. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and is a PhD candidate in Psychiatry at the University of Alberta, where her research has focused on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

With nearly a decade of academic and clinical training in the mental health field, Seta brings a deep and well-rounded foundation to her practice. Her clinical experience spans a range of settings, including early childhood and educational environments where she worked closely with children and youth with diverse developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs. During her practicum training, she conducted psychoeducational assessments within school settings, developing a strong appreciation for the intersection of learning, development, and mental health.

Seta works with adults, children, and teens navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, and relationship challenges. She is an EMDR-trained therapist who draws from parts work (IFS), DBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT — weaving these together based on what each client actually needs, whether that's processing difficult memories, understanding parts of themselves that feel at odds, or building practical skills for the hard days.

Cultural competence is central to how Seta works. She understands that a client's cultural background, values, and lived experience are deeply woven into their mental health. She offers sessions in English and Farsi, and strives to create a space where clients from all backgrounds feel genuinely understood.

She sees clients in person in Edmonton and St. Albert, and virtually across Alberta.

When she's not in session, Seta enjoys baking, traveling to new places, and snowmobiling in the heart of an Albertan winter.
