Meagon Nicholson

Meagon is a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (RSW #17213) and has over ten years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families. She holds a Master of Social Work with a Clinical Specialization from the University of Calgary, along with a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She believes therapy is about connection—understanding how our relationships, environments, and life experiences shape us. Her approach is holistic and compassionate, looking beyond the moment to understand the bigger picture.

Meagon focuses on supporting all genders who have experienced trauma in its many forms. Whether it shows up as anxiety, depression, grief, or difficulty managing triggers, she creates a safe, grounded space for healing. Drawing from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she tailors each session to the client’s unique needs and pace. Her work with survivors of childhood and adult abuse helps her meet clients where they are and support meaningful growth.

Before becoming a therapist, Meagon worked in oil and gas, construction, and car maintenance—experiences that give her unique insight into the pressures men often face around identity, relationships, and mental health. She brings empathy and understanding, using approaches like CBT and DBT, to support those who feel their voice isn’t heard. You do not have to face this alone.

Meagon also has a passion for working with couples and families. Using tools from Gottman Method Level 1, Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), she helps strengthen communication, build trust, and ensure that every voice is heard. Her background with Children’s Services brings an added layer of care and understanding to her work with families.

Outside of work, Meagon enjoys time with her dogs, hiking, and reading. Her approach is warm, down-to-earth, and person-centered. Whether you’re seeking support as an individual, couple, or family, she’s here to walk alongside you—at your pace, on your path.
