Abeer is a mental health therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the American University of Beirut (2016), where she also completed a one-year internship working with underserved and vulnerable populations. Her approach to therapy is open-minded, flexible, and grounded in the belief that people are the experts in their own lives.
Drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities, including person-centered therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Abeer gently tailors each session to meet her clients where they are. She believes that meaningful change happens through insight, patience, and support, balanced with learning new skills that can help people improve their lives.
At the core of her work is a deep sense of curiosity and respect for each person's story. Abeer fosters a space where clients feel seen and heard, not judged. She approaches people’s experiences with compassion and openness rather than assumptions, believing that understanding and healing grow when we meet ourselves with honesty and kindness.
Abeer is deeply committed to making mental health care more equitable and accessible, especially for those who face systemic or cultural barriers to receiving support. She is fluent in both Arabic and English and brings a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed lens to her work.
Her clinical experience includes supporting individuals dealing with trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. She is currently pursuing her Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation through the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA).
Above all, Abeer sees therapy as a collaborative process: one where clients feel empowered, supported, and honored in their unique paths toward healing and growth.
