Mayar (May) Darras is a Master of Counselling student at City University of Canada, currently completing her practicum at ReFocus You. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Psychological Assessments from Concordia University of Edmonton.
May’s therapeutic approach combines Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), empowering clients to explore and re-author their stories with clarity and confidence. She is dedicated to creating a collaborative and supportive space where individuals can find new meanings, develop coping strategies, and work toward authentic growth aligned with their values.
Passionate about fostering a respectful environment, May supports clients in sharing thier narratives, challenge limiting beliefs, and embrace change. She looks forward to working with children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and addiction. Supporting diverse populations, she offers services in both English and Arabic.
Her compassionate, attentive presence, combined with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, helps her build trusting relationships with clients. Motivated to contribute to a clinical setting, May is committed to providing empathetic, ethical, and client-centered care to promote mental well-being
She is passionate about empowering clients to reclaim their narratives and discover resilience. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys reading, re-watching her favourite shows, and building Legos.
